6AM: I left the house on my own, wrapped up in my warmest coat (which I wear every day) to make the 3km trip. I met up with other children from my village, and we huddled together beneath the mountain to keep warm, waiting for the last couple of stragglers to arrive. As soon as we were all together, two of the dads put their sledges and emergency packs on their backs, and we set off for school
dear diary,
It was about 6 am when i set off for the hike.
It was -50 degrees where i was going.So I
wrapped my self in my biggest ,fluffiest,
warmest coat. I was quite nervous because
it was my first time on my own.The other
children offered to come with me so I wasnt
scared. You cannot believe how relived i was.
the trip all together was 3-4km and I knew I
would get tired. The village kids and me kept
moving while waiting for the others because we
knew if we stopped it would feel like we were
in antartica.
After 30 mins we could almost the the roof of the school peeking through the mountains. We kept on dragging ourselfs though the snow and my friend Benjiman fell down i think 4 times but i mean whos counting? There path down the hills was clear now and very slippery! My dad and some of the kids dads had brought sleighs so we though t this was an amazing opportunity to race down the hill. The sleighs were like race cars i had a shiny red one and my friends had blue ones. It made me feel special but i knew that having a red sleigh didnt make me any better than the rest of them. After sliding down the path we were at the gates. it had been a long journey so of course we ran inside. It was a very fun trip today wonder what will happen tommorow!
