Islington Primary Schools Football League

The boys made it 2 wins out of 2 with a 3-1 defeat of Tufnell Park Primary. A close first half saw Ashmount take the lead towards the end of the half through an own goal. In the second half, the boys stepped up the tempo and went further ahead through Han and Jordan. Tufnell Park pulled a goal back with minutes left but the points were already secured.

Squad: - Sid, Amir, Cory, Stephane, Han, Cameron, Louis, Jordan and Archie.

The girls pulled off a fantastic result, drawing 0-0 against a very strong Tufnell Park. Despite not being at full strength and with Millie making her debut, they showed great team spirit and determination to keep Tufnell Park at bay and seal a well-deserved draw.

Future Zone League

A productive afternoon for our team sees the team after Week 5 unbeaten and top of the table. First up were Gillespie Primary, a team who have provided us with some tough games this year and it got no easier. Both sides had opportunities to score and it was our opponents who took the lead when a deflected free kick gave goalkeeper Sid no chance and we found us one down with three minutes left.With time running out, we looked beaten, but a thunderbolt from Stephane levelled the game and then with seconds left Jordan popped up with the winner to leave Gillespie heartbroken. Our second fixture was a touch easier as we ran out 10-1 winners against Rotherfield Primary. The trio of Stephane (4), Han (4) and Jordan (2) made hay as the goals flowed and left us sitting in a strong position after 5 weeks.
