... 2 years later...

Zoya woke up, starting her usual routine. She hopped out of the top of the bunkbed and rubbed Aka's belly, making him yawn. She picked him up and walked into the kitchen to make breakfast; cereal for Zoya, chilies on toast for Aka. She placed a jug of hot cocoa on the table and sat Aka down on his chair. He used to have to sit on a baby chair, as he was still to small to see the tables surface, but now he had grown rapidly almost double his original size. Dragons are meant to grow slowly, especially Aka's particular species, but Zoya assumed it was just a growth spurt, ignoring it.Aka wolfed down his food, not even wincing at the heat of the jalapeno peppers, whilst Zoya neatly sipped her cocoa and spooned her cereal into her mouth.

Zoya wasnt one too be caring about cleaning the plates, leaving them at the table. She pulled on her snow boots , gloves and coat, then twirled a scarf around Aka's neck, then placing a little bobble hat on his head. She has knitted these miniature garments herself, and Aka showed them off proudly. She closed the door of the wood cabin behind them, then ran out to the snow. Aka jumped up and flapped through the sky ungracefully .It was quiet around there, to far from any villages, too high for much wild life, but Zoya had adapted to her non-social life, and Aka hardly ever met another human that wasnt Zoya. Occasionally, family would come and visit, but Zoya wasnt the same as she used to be...
