Today in Micro society we did a lesson on scarcity .
In the lesson we were given materials such as : paper,a pencil,a ruler and some groups even got protractors, the things that you use to make circles and finally counters, that we could exchange for points at the end.
Talking about points here's how to get some: The first way is to draw a square that is exactly 10cm long on all sides. That would be 5 points. The second way is to draw a perfect circle, 10 points, but you'll need a protractor to do it perfectly. The third way is ,if you have any counters you can exchange them for 5 points per counter at the end.
What happens if your shape isn't perfect?
It get's scrunched up and thrown in the recycling bin.
This was a competition to who won with the most points. We were group C and we came in 3rd place,in 1st place was group A.
This lesson has taught me that nothing is unlimited in this world and we are very lucky to be in this country ,which provides everything for us. But some countries are not fortunate enough to have things you need to survive.
It also taught me that trading things for money can be very important in your life at times. For example, if you have animals you don't want and you need a tractor ,you can sell the useless animals and buy a tractor with your profits you made by selling animals you don't want.
You should also think before you do your actions ,for example,if you aimlessly sell something you need for money and try to buy it back, some people may refuse to give it back for even twice the price they gave to you.
I have enjoyed this activity in micro society and i hope that if you get a chance to do it you will enjoy it too.
