All about the model lighthouses we made at school and how we did it and review.

The Lighthouse

As you might know,Southsea is wanting a new lighthouse.It must be modern and have British heritage.In our class,studetns have 6 weeks to plan,design and make a model building.So far,we have made a small,small version.As the weeks pass we need to find out how we can improve our lighthouses to make a small lighthouse,which is our final version.

How we made the lighthouse

We started to make the lighthouse by having to following:

Lightbulb x1

Lightbulb holder x1

Jump leads/Crocodile Clips x3

Red Piece of paper x1

White Piece of paper x1

Plastic cup x1

Green card x2

Something that looks cylindrical (eg.toilet rools,pringles can) x1

AA battery x1

AA battery holder x1

1.Connect up the lightbulb to the lightbulb holder

2.Connect up the crocodile leads to the lightbulb holder.

3.Connect up the crocodile leads to the ends of the battery holder (copper bit)

4.Connect up the battery to the battery holder.

Your lightbulb should glow when you do the 4 instructions above.If there isn't a glow, there must be a faulty in either the battery,the holder,the leads,the bulb holder or the bulb itself.Replace the faulty products and replace them with new ones.It should work then.

5.Put the wire into the cylindrical object.

6.Make a bulb-shaped hole in one of the green card.

7.Put the bulb through the hole.

8.Cover the top of the cylindrical object with the green card with the bulb sticking upwards.

9 Put the plastic cup on top of the bulb to make a kind of dome

10.DONE!!!

Review

Making the lighthouse was a tricky but fun process so i rate making the Lighthouse 7/10
