..."My child,"She whispered to it"It is time."
She stroked it's fuzzy body, feeling the transformation starting.Their fragile little wings shrunk, then grew bigger and thicker- now less easy to break. Their wings were now like bat wings; although less hairy, and was now more grey and transparent. Their eyes bulged slightly, and glowed a neon yellow. Their delicate, stick-like feet thickened and grew miniature claws, so small you could barely see them. With their antennas straight up, the bee's stared at their leader, waiting for orders. The Queen bee hesitated, pausing until the right moment. The fog flew to her, nuzzling her like a cat. The moon was high in the sky. A full moon. Perfect.
"Go!" She bellowed at the bee's.
As the words fell out of her mouth, the bees shot up, trying out their new wings and kicking their legs in delight. They danced and twirled up to the moon, excited. The Queen bee wondered if they would follow her orders, or let the excitement overwhelm them. After all, they had been trapped in that cage for most of their life, but would they disobey their mother? She jumped up, joining them in their flight to the moon, easily catching up. The bee's could fly faster than her, but at this moment they were to relaxed to release their full energy. She flapped her black feathered wings and glided upwards
About half an hour later, they were out of Earth's atmosphere, closer to the moon every second. The bee's were amazed. They had never seen such beauty. Before they could go explore, the Queen bee grasped them all and shoved them forwards. The Queen bee looked around to see if anyone had seen them, but no one was there.
Finally, the moon was right in front of them. They could finally do what they had been trained to do...
