Alcatraz prison was the most famous prison known for trying to escape the prison and most of the time failing but however their has been a few people that have succeeded on escaping.Roy Garder was one of the few people who managed to escape this prison and he also published a book called 'Hellcatraz'.Also a film called 'i stole a Billion' was made about his life in 1939.In Alcatraz there was 336 cells and was not spacious at all and had room for a small coat and a toilet,which was still a cramp to move.It was so small the cells that you could strech your arms out and both would touch the two walls.Most prisoners did not survive very long because they hung themselves ,died of an illness or was killed by another inmate.
