Piano!

Hello everyone, in todays blog I am going to be showing you 5 things about the piano! Some of these are new to me, some of these I have found out from piano teachers and some are just from experience! I personally love playing the piano, the different notes, the grand-piano look, just, everything! I think all instruments are beautiful and unique in their very own way.

Treble Clef

If you see this sign on a sheet of music, it means the notes on that bar (or stave) are all played on the right hand. Without this, you wouldn't know what hand to play the notes on!

Bass Clef

This sign shows that whatever notes are on the sheet music,

you play on the left hand! Like the Treble Clef, this sign is

also seen on sheet music.

Octave

An octave is two notes with 7 notes in between. The notes are C, D, E, F, G then it goes back to C. When playing a song, you can switch between octaves to make it easier to play, or if you add vocals, you can adjust it to your pitch.

Sustain Pedal

Oh my goodness! The sustain pedal is the best feature yet! This pedal extends note length, and merges notes together! I use this so much, I don't know what I was doing without it. It creates so much effect on the song, and it makes notes sound more delicate and soft. A total must!

The Notes

The notes go from A - G and then they start again. This happens for the whole 88 keys of the entire piano. The further you go to the right, the higher-pitched the notes. The further you go to the left, the lower the notes get. That's how it worked!
