The Manchester Derby
This is my imaginative football report about the Manchester Derby
Today is the Manchester Derby between Manchester United (for short that is Man Utd) and Manchester City ( for short that is Man City ).It is called a Derby because both teams are from the same local area, Manchester.
The game is being held at Old Trafford which is
Man Utd's home ground, so they should have an advantage as the atmosphere will be eletric! The date is 12th April.
While the players ran out onto the pitch both teams were eager to win for the title as Chelsea had a seven point lead. Man Utd kicked off as they are the home team. As soon as Rooney passed to Mata the Man U supporters screamed "come on Utd".
Mata passed a long ball to Ashley Young who couldn't reach. It was a City throw which Zabaletata took. It went to Navas who made a run down the line which was chased by Gibbs. Navas managed to whip a wonderful ball into the box and Aguero headed a ball just wide. It was an early chance for City. David De Gea took the goal kick and Fellaini headed it to Mata who charged down the right wing and delivered a beauty of a ball into the box and Rooney headed it into the top corner. What a goal from Rooney in the 10th minute. The city defence will be livid with their awful defending. Rooney was hardly marked. After his epic over head goal he was delighted to add another goal against their local rivals.
City kicked off. Silva passed to Fernandinho who dribbled outside the Man U defence and had a shot. It was an incredible shot as it flew right in the bottom corner at the stroke of half time. The score at half time was 1-1.
The managers spoke to their players. After the team talk City started the second half brightly with lots of shots testing De Gea, whilst Man U were lacking in possession. Half an hour later there were still no goals and it was now at stoppage time. Meanwhile Man U made a subsitution. Young off and Di Maria on as City conceded a corner. Di maria took the corner and Rooney the goal scorer headed it for Man U but on the way it stroked the hand of Kompany which the Ref spotted. A penalty was given to Man U in the last kick of the game. Di maria took the penalty and scored.
Final score at Old Trafford - Man U 2 Man City 1. What a game!
