100 – 150 Word Challenge - World War Two Theme -
“Stay here, darling. I’m just popping to the shops to buy groceries. I can’t take you with me as its too much off a risk during this war. Stay here. And DON’T open the door to ANYONE. You got me?”
Said Lucy’s mother, and she hurried to the Shop.
There was a knock on the door. Lucy, only being three years old, skips over to the door and greets the Police officer as if he was her friend.
“Hello. Are you alone? Where’s your parents? Do you have a family?”
Questioned the Officer.
Lucy simply replied, “ Well, mummy is not in the house…”
“Come, quick, there’s no time to lose”
said The Officer, and took Lucy to the evacuation center asap.

“Where am I?” muttered Lucy as she drowned into an ocean of people.
Her vision went blurry and she felt like she was about to faint. He stepped onto the train and the doors shut...
Sadly, her mother was never told where she was taken, and they never saw each other again.
