Sports leader

I would like to be a sports leader at Prior Weston School because I really like sport and I think that I would be a good leader.

I am good at sports. I play rugby, football and I go swimming every week.

This commitment to sports shows that I am reliable, and I think that this is important if you are a sports leader. I have some very good coaches who are great sports leaders. They have taught me lots of skills, such as warming up and stretching before I play sport, also how to play sport carefully (especially when I play full contact rugby) and I could share these skills with other people. They have also taught me important things about sportsmanship such as being fair, respecting everyone, letting everyone have a turn and including everybody. My rugby coach always reminds us to accept the referee's decision, even if you don't agree, and not answer back.

I am a natural leader - in football, I organise the positions of my team mates, and I think about the strategy of the game. I communicate well with my team, and I am not shy. I can help others to learn by setting a good example, teaching them the rules of different sports and how to play fairly.

I have lots of good coaches, and I have thought about them when I have written about the qualities of a good sports leader. They all inspire me to play sport and be good at it, and I would like to do that for other people.
