The Creatures Of
The Forest
The Forest
Stillness. There is no other way to describe the forest right now, but perhaps
I could say silence. Silence. Either way it would still describe it. Except for the
soft rustling of the leaves in the trees, it is quiet. Some of the monkeys and
baboons are in the trees and happily munching away at fruit, whilst others lay in a hammock of branches and leaves. This evening snakes did not hiss. Instead, they just lay lazily among the emerald grass. So as you see, all the animals were peaceful
this evening. Whatever the animals were doing, most of them got a glimpse
of the sky. As the sun set and lowered its head, almost as if by magic the sky
changed its colour. First to a light purple, then ruby red, then a clear orange
and finally the sky faded into darkness. However. it was comfortable and
comforting, for every creature of the forest knew that night time and the
black of night was their friend. Suddenly, without warning a thunderous roar
echoed throughout the forest, sending birds flying out of their trees and
wilder beast running wild. Instantly the creatures of the forest snapped out
of their own world, thrust up their heads, and looked at each other. And in a
moment they all knew that the king of the beasts, the bravest lion, was in
pain...
