Milfield Theater trip

(Year 6)

On Thursday 11 th November 2014 year 6 travelled back in time to see Macbeth (in the Milfield theater)

Before we participated in a workshop by the young Shakespeare Company. Then we watched it at the Milfield Theater.

Basically, what happened was that there's a king,who was murdered by his best soldier, Macbeth. There were also three witches, which knew the future. Before Duncan (the king) was murdered Macbeth,his friend Banquo and the army defeated a rival. When they came back the witches told Macbeth he would be thane of Cawdor and become king (which happened after he murdered the current king) and Duncan rewarded him with the title, the thane of Cawdor (before he was murdered).

Macbeth was worried about Banquo so he hired two murderers to kill him.

During that night they had a party. Lady Macbeth (Macbeth’s wife) was excited but during it Macbeth saw Banquo's ghost, his throat cut and he was blindfolded because his eyes were cut out. Macbeth was petrified. He started to screaming so the party ended early.

Macbeth went to the witches and was told

“No man born of woman can harm Macbeth,” and “beware of Mucduff (he was supposed to take the king back but found out that he was dead).

(I forgot to tell you about Donalbain and Malcolm the king’ sons’ they fled after the death of their father and brought back an army).

When they came to the hill where Macbeth was, the army chopped down trees, and used them as disguises and marched towards them. Macbeth sent his Army and they attacked them like animals. During the battle it came down to Macbeth and Mucduff.But Mucduff was not of woman born he had some kind of surgery thing a mabob so mucduff killed Macbeth. Malcom was crowned king of Scotland.

My favorite part was when the ghost of Banquo came. I enjoyed it all!!
