Scarlet and Ivy are back at school after the summer holidays, along with their best friend Ariadne and two new girls, Ariadne’s former nemesis, Muriel Whitherspoon who seems to be a lot nicer, and one influential Scottish girl named Ebony McCloud who seems to be able to do some somewhat creepy tricks and curses.

Scarlet and Ivy are back at school after the Christmas holidays, bringing with them a newly gifted heirloom from their dead mother in the form of a musical box. When the son of a previous evil headmaster (Henry Bartholomew) says her wants to close the school temporarily to make safety adjustments Scarlet and Ivy find his more sinister intentions and that the musical box of their mother’s has a secret compartment containing coded documents (which Ariadne manages to decode) that gives them a lead they decide to recreate the group their mother was part of when she went to Rookwood school: The Whispers In The Walls.

 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is travelling all around the world carrying the Tootings with it in an attempt to find all her missing pieces.
