Using pythagoras' theorem you can calculate the length of the hypotenuse (C) by using a2 + b2 = c2. If the length of A is 2 centimetres, that squared is 4. And if the length of B is 5 centimetres that squared is 25. Now if you add 25 and 4 you will get 29. However, that is only the answer to C (HYPOTENUSE) squared. But if you find the square root of 29 that will give you the length of the hypotenuse (C). So the square root of 29 is 5.385. That is the length of C (HYPOTENUSE). I hope you understand...
