After School Cricket Club
A blog to keep track of our progress as the future stars of English Cricket!
First session after the Easter break. The poor weather kept us indoors but that didn't stop us!
We started by practising the front foot drive or straight drive. There was some fancy smashing of the tennis ball against the stage!
We then played a little game of scoring point by hitting the ball between stumps, a bit like a penalty shoot out.
After short break to catch our breath and take a sip of water - it was hot inside! we brushed up on our bowling making sure our action was correct.
Finally we ended the session with a game of Kwik kricket!

Session 2 - 08/05/2012
In our second session we had some new additions to the group. So we now had a mixture of experience and inexperience. This was good for the KS 2 pupils who were able to help the KS 1 pupils and "coach" them on the basics of batting!
We practised our catching - making sure we spread our fingers nice and wide to make our hands like buckets! We played a short catching game - King of the Hill.
The session ended with a cricket match - we split into two teams and each had a turn at batting and bowling.
Session 3 - 15/05/2012
Wet weather, thunderstorm and lightning forced us back indoors this week! A little crowded in the lower hall we managed to brush up on our bowling skills before we split into two teams to compete in a kwik cricket match.
