William opened his eyes and was blinded by the light. He was in a white room with lots of machines and was wearing a fluorescent blue top.
“An ospital,” he thought, sitting up.
“He’s alive!” sung a jolly chap, rushing forward to William.
“What appened?” William asked.
“You jumped into the ocean to rescue Maddy here and then a fisherman saw you and dragged you out.” the man replied.
“Thanks,” William replied, before spotting Maddy sitting up too, and looking in his direction. He almost fainted from the shock of seeing her. She was his long lost wife! One day, Maddy had fallen over the edge of the lighthouse and William never saw her again. They jumped up to embrace each other, both crying hysterically. Neither of them had ever thought that they’d be seeing their partner again!
Once they had both recovered, William and Mandy moved out and lived in a tiny apartment in town. William never asked Maddy why she was out on the boat. William changed. Happiness had made him a better person.
