Charlotte got out of bed and peered out the window. The T.V Weatherman had forecasted snow and she couldn’t wait to go outside and make the biggest snowman ever!
Sure enough, a blanket of soft white snow covered the garden and more was falling from the sky. Charlotte squealed happily and put on her slippers and dressing gown. She ran down the stairs, two at a time and gobbled down her breakfast as quickly as possible. She skipped past the bathroom, too excited to brush her teeth and ran to her bedroom. She put on five layers and took her warm coat out of the cupboard. She grabbed her gloves, hat and scarf from the downstairs banister and flew out the door like a cheetah.
Charlotte scooped up a handful of snow and rolled it into a ball. As soon as it was as tall as her waist, she lifted it up and carried it to the flat part of her garden. She rolled another ball and when it was knee height, she dragged it over to the flat surface and placed it on top of the other ball. She decorated the balls with twigs, pebbles and a carrot. Soon they began to look less like balls and more like a snowman.
It was only 4:30am and Charlotte was tired so she went back to sleep. When she woke up, she bounded down the stairs, two at a time as usual, and went out to see her snowman. As she stepped outside, she realised that something was gone, her snowman wasn't there! It was too cold for the snowman to melt, so she wondered if her sister Lucy had moved it, just for a trick. Charlotte looked up into the sky to see if it was going to rain again and, guess what! There was the snowman, sitting on a magic carpet!
"Thanks, Charlotte," It smiled, before flying away.
