What's that behind you?

A monster creeping up from under your bed,
Terrible jaws snatching an innocent head,

A monster plodding across the floor,
Out of the wardrobe and through the door,

Out into the night the monsters must go,
Terrible things that you must know,

Of the girl who was wandering around,
But never again was she found,

Of the boy who crept into the dark,
His bones were found in a nearby park.

Out into the night the monsters must go,
Terrible things that you must know,

Like that creature that follows you in your sleep,
That you can't send away by counting sheep,

Like the thing that is standing right behind you.

Out into the night the monsters must go,
Terrible things that you must know,

Of all those eyes staring at you now,

Of all the monsters ready to POUNCE!
