Do you think it's right for young children to play with war toys?
I don't have a strong opinion, but I do think there are good and bad reasons for both sides. The negative side is: it is a bad influence on children and they don't realise how harmful guns are, they think of them as 'fun' and 'a toy'. Although this is true, it's important to know what our 'heroes' do for us and how they risk their lives for us and our country. Some would say it's better to read about the war instead, however for some children it is a good way to learn as long as they use their toys in a sensible way. Toy guns are made for different reasons, for example, water guns are made for fun in the back garden and some people wouldn't consider this to do with war. Some toy guns are made to be like the real guns soldiers use to fight with, these more often are considered a bad influence.
