Fitness week
The best part about Fitness week, was that we had a break from our lessons during the
week and spent most of our time, trying lots of different sports that we would not normally be able to do. It was particularly enjoyable since lots of the amusing activities or school trips that we usually do have been cancelled due to the Corona virus. At last, we got to have some fun at school, trying out new sports! I played tennis, Just4Kicks at Beverley Park, Zorbing and even went on a bouncy castle! At the end of the week we had Sports Day, which was very exciting since we did not have one last year.
During the week I got the opportunity to play tennis at a Tennis club near my grandparent’s house, which was amazing. I used a proper tennis racquet, which was very springy when the ball hit it. I practiced my serving and felt that I need some more practice! I had the chance to play a game which involved trampoline nets and balls with Just4Kicks at Beverley Park, which was better than I thought it would be. I was not sure what to expect from the day, but it turned out to be a lot of fun.
I hope that we can have a Fitness week next year, so that we can participate in these activities again. My favourite activity of the week was Zorbing and the bouncy castle. I think the Fitness week should follow the same format as this year, but with the addition of different non - racquet sports. Finally, at the end of the week was Sports Day and I took part in the bean bag, toss, running, sack race, hurdles, Egg and Spoon race and a team race. Overall,
I enjoyed the Bean bag and Toss the most, since I did not have to do much, since I was so tired from all the other activities. It was a very entertaining afternoon and particularly pleasing to see the whole of year 5 partake in the annual Sports Day event.
