Yesterday I went to the STAR Travel award ceremony in Stratford with Tanya and Jo-Jo from Year 5, to collect our Gold Star award for Mead.

We learnt lots of good ideas on how to get our pupils walking and cycling to school more, and leaving their cars at home.

We worked with some pupils from another school to write this Walk to School rap-

We want you to walk to school,

If you do you're really cool,

If you don't you'll be a fool.

Use your feet,

Not your seat.

Walk to school and learn this beat.

Then on the train on the way home, we wrote this Cycle to School rap-

We want you to cycle to school,

Using bikes is really cool,

Leave your car,

It's better by far,

To exercise

And clear the skies.

Sing with us and learn this song,

Do it now, don't take too long.

Now we plan to teach these raps to the rest of our school Travel Team, and share them in assembly.

We want to have a school cycling competition, a bikers breakfast, cycle in school sessions and start a cycling club- we can't wait to get started!
