Ray Charles Robinson known as Ray Charles, was an American singer, songwriter, musician and composer. He was sometimes called to as "The Genius", and was also nicknamed "The High Priest of Soul".

Ray Charles Robinson was born on September 23, 1930, in Albany, Georgia. His father, a mechanic, and his mother, a sharecropper, moved the family to Greenville, Florida when he was an infant. One of the most sadest events of his childhood was witnessing the drowning death of his younger brother.In 1949, he released his first song the Confession Blues with the Maxin Trio.

Ray Charles was also blind he could not see and when he played the piano he had to learn without looking at the keys.Imagine if you were blind and you had to play the piano. These are his kids he had 12!
