Year 2
Handa's Surprise!
This term we have read the story of Handa's Surprise.
We enjoyed retelling the story of how Handa lost her fruit on her journey to see her friend. We investigated what would affect how the fruits would fall out of Handa's basket by learning about gravity and friction. We also investigated which surface the fruit would roll furthest on.

We also enjoyed making our own fruit drinks and drawing the different types of fruits; mango, guava, tangerine, banana, passionfruit, pineapple and avocado.
We weighed the fruit.
We measured our own fruit drinks using mango, orange and guava juice.
Pancake Day
On Pancake Day we read the Kenyan story 'Mama Panya's Pancakes'. The story taught us that it is good to share. We made Kenyan pancakes from Mama Panya's recipe. They were delicious!
Our new classroom.
We moved into our new classroom this term.
we think it is brilliant! We were really shocked when we first explored our new areas.
We wrote letters to everyone that helped to build our new school to say thank you .
Numeracy games
Over half-term we made our own Numeracy games to play with our friends in school. They were so good we took them to show Miss Mason!
We have found out about African textiles and dress. We made our own tie-dye
t-shirts.
Parent share
For our parent share we held an African Drumming workshop with Mr Kindred.
We had lots of fun learning new songs!
