Week Beginning 19th May 2014
For our last week of our 'Homes' theme, we have been
looking at 'Different Homes'. We used google earth to
explore Cheswick Green from an aerial view. We were
able to zoom in on the school and it's surrounding village,
discussing the roads where we and/or our friends live.
We looked at the range of materials used when building
a house, discussing the differences and features of
each. In cooking this week we made chocolate concrete,
but don't worry, this concrete is edible!
This week, using the three primary colours; red, blue
and yellow, we made the colour brown to paint bricks.
The children loved it. They kept saying, "It changed like
magic".
Our whole school assembly topic this week was 'Co-
operation', so we have been working together to build
our own houses. We are all such good friends
here in Foundation, it makes working as a team so much
