Week Beginning 27th January 2014
Keeping with the 'Toys' theme, this week we read
'The Toy's Party' by Roderick Hunt. In the story,
Kipper wanted a party but nobody wanted to come. So
he decided to have a party with his toys, but first he
needed to make a cake for them to enjoy. Kipper's cake
was a bit odd though; it had jam, baked beans, corn-
flakes, milk and all sorts of other things in it. Can you
remember what else was in Kipper's cake? We made
our own cakes in our family groups using Kipper's
ingredients but luckily, on Thursday the children had a
proper recipe for fairy cakes in cooking.
We also had the balance scales out this week and have
been speaking about 'heavier and lighter'.

Foundation have had fun playing a selection of musical
instruments along to music outside this week. Lots of
the children even began pretending they were in a band
with their friends and we were lucky enough to see
their debut performances. They decided on names for
their bands too. We had 'The Girly Flowers' and 'The
Ninja Turtles' just to name a few.

on the birthday cake.
A brand new independent
creative area has been set
up in Foundation this week.
The children love using their
imagination to make whatever
they like and enjoy
displaying it on the line above
for all their friends to see.
