Week Beginning 25th November 2013
This week we have been looking at night time and the
stars we see in the sky which lead us to our nursery
rhyme, 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.
Using glitter and paint we decorated lots of twinkly
stars. We used these stars to decorate our
'Night time' role play area, where we were able to
sing our favourite night time nursery rhymes while
putting our teddies into our make shift mini bed.
This week we made a den using fabric and tents
where we listened to the story 'Owl Babies' by
Martin Waddell. In this story three baby owls begin
to grow anxious when they wake one night to find
their mother is not there. Together they wait until
finally their mother returns making them bounce up
and down with joy.
In the Foundation garden we had lots of star related
activities available, including glitter play dough and
chalk boards where we could practice drawing stars.
We even had a stage set up with microphones where
we could be stars ourselves, singing our favourite
songs to our friends.
