Week Beginning 10th June 2013
In keeping with our theme this month 'water', this
week we read a story called 'The Treasure Chest'
by Roderick Hunt. In this story, a group of children
find a key which takes them on a magical adventure
into their fishing tank. Along the way they meet many
different types of fish and discover an amazing
treasure chest full to the brim of gold. We made our
very own treasure chests in Foundation this week.
First we painted out box brown, before decorating
it with colourful sequins and buttons to look extra
special. We even made a necklace using pasta tubes
to put inside as 'treasure'. In cooking this week
everybody made a chocolate biscuit in the shape of
an octopus. Don't worry, we made sure they each had
8 legs!
Foundation 2 imagined they were trapped on a desert
island to complete their writing activity this week.
We wrote a letter asking for help and rolled it up to
put inside a plastic bottle for us to send out to sea.
Our radishes were ready to pick from the garden on
Friday this week and we were lucky enough to take
one home with us to try.
