Goldilocks and the Three Bears

We found out this week that Goldilocks needed some help to learn about stranger danger and manners. The children decided that we needed to tell her that she should not be walking in to other people's houses and that she should definitely not be eating their food or breaking their furniture! Firstly, Foundation 2 children labelled a picture of her to create a wanted poster, then we decided to help Goldilocks by writing an apology letter to the bears to 'put it right'.

The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears does help us to think about the concept of size and the related language. We measured all the children in Foundation 1 to find out how tall we are. We found out that we are all different sizes and that it won't be long before we are as tall as Mrs Turner! In Foundation 2 this week we practised reading and solving subtraction sentences using the bears to help us count, we really enjoyed using the colourful whiteboard pens to record with. In cooking this week week we made porridge and had a taste to see what all the fuss was about, and most of us really enjoyed this healthy, warm breakfast.
