Tim Peake

Early Life: Tim Peake is married with 2 children. He spent 17 years in the army as a platoon commander and a helicopter pilot. He was born in Chichester, Sussex, on April 1972.

Training:He was selected from 8000 applicants. He has learnt Russian,spent 12 days underwater and completed a winter survival mission.

Space Mission:He was the first British astronaut in space for over 20 years.He landed on the International space station on 15 December 2015. For 6 months conducting experiments.When in space he still used the gym.

Interesting Facts: Major Tim Peake was 43 years old when he went to space.The ISS is the size of a football field.114,240 is the approximate number of kilometres travelled by Tim Peake.
