OFFSPRING

When giraffes are 5 years old they carry a baby for 15 months and give birth standing up!

They have extra long tongues that measure 50cm in length. Interestingly, when giraffes walk they move both legs on one side of their body and then both legs on the other side.

Giraffes have spotty fur to keep them safe. Giraffes are 4- 5m tall. The giraffe has an extremely long neck which can be up to 2m long in fully grown adults. They are the tallest mammals that live in land.
